简单讲一下. 四张Official Studio Album,其他的Release没有包括在内........ 对Tool有很多评价,精辟的说: Tool是一支智者的Metal Band,他们的音乐在思想和艺术上都具有相当的深度. 从上个世纪九十年代到现在很难找出第二支乐队,能把metal或者alternative rock表现得如此恢宏而具有美感; Tool把alternative rock中的黑暗和深邃的冲击力彻底地渗透进了art rock磅礴的段式编排中. 在九十年代中前期Alt Rock大行其道时,Tool凭借着在Undertow中展现出的深刻音乐表现力和对音乐形式的高度把握能力,就已把同时代的乐队远远地抛开; 因为当时的绝大部分Alt rock band根本就无法跳出传统而简单的段式编排. 但Tool与所谓的主流Progressive rock乐队又有着质的不同,后者大多充斥着浓重的金属质感或者中世纪宗教气息,而Tool明显继承了Alt Rock特有的时而阴瑟昏暗时而病态宣泄的气质,乐曲中的推进转换和不同乐器的层叠又处理的非常高明. 主音Maynard James Keenan的歌词和演唱都散发着特殊的气质. 如果说Tool的器乐是一头来自另一个黑暗空间的猛兽,那么Maynard的演唱就好像赋予了其先知般灵性; 有评价说Maynard在某种程度上取代了死后的Layne Staley,两者的声音都不留情面地刻画出了人被情欲和憎恶所控制了的情感.---------------------------水平有限,情见谅---张威,2009-07-26
